WE STRONGLY URGE ALL to join TENAC and the other groups in opposition to the Mayor's proposed budget cuts aimed at slashing services, thereby causing great hardship to many in this diverse city.   We and others, like the D.C. Fiscal Policy Institute, EmpowerDC, the Fair Budget Coalition, Bread for the City, etc., are urging the Council to restore these cuts and enact more equitable ways of raising revenue -- instead of mimicking the now outworn orthodoxy of slashing services and cutting taxes for the rich that has actually led to the current crisis of derivatives, debt and its natural culmination: socializing losses for the wealthiest among us (the banks) while ingraining unemployment, and depression on the rest.  Please click to see what you can do/who to contact to make your voice heard.
